Introducing...the All New JA Ourselves

JA Ourselves is Junior Achievement's kindergarten program. This redeveloped program supports the current Common Core standards. Now, there is a list of how each lesson supports specific Common Core Standards.New this year, the list is included at the front of the Volunteer and Teacher guide. This redeveloped program goes beyond basic coin recognition and deals more with real financial literacy topics. For example, needs and wants is a social studies standard for kindergartners in a number of states. The redeveloped JA Ourselves retains the focus on getting the students to differentiate between needs and wants that has been so successful in the past. The students also get to practice economics by making personal choices.

While the old kit has single-sheet handouts, the new program has a Junior Journal mini-book, which the students color and where they do ALL their work. These mini-books provide students skills in English language arts, mathematics, and writing.
