We?re Excited to "Travel" the Globe With our Students This Fall!

At Junior Achievement, we know the value of teaching teens about financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. It's also important to make sure teens have a global, well-rounded perspective when approaching these topics. Thanks to a generous grant from HSBC, Junior Achievement offices--across the country--will be unveiling the updated JA Global Marketplace program to middle school students this fall.

As part of the program, teens learn about cultures from around the world and how these cultures affect the global economy and, therefore, their personal lives. They learn about how fluctuations in the strength of the U.S. dollar can impact the price American consumers pay for products made overseas and how free trade works by using fun exercises that reflect circumstances they experience in their everyday lives. Our JA volunteers will present this seven week curriculum to students in a relatable way, using examples from students' lives and incorporating digital content for the first time.
